A crash between a car and a semi tractor trailer has left a Sand Lake woman with minor injuries.
According to the Montcalm County Sheriff Office, the accident happened on Friday at around 11 in the morning. It appears that 43 year old Edie Peterman, of Sand Lake, was heading west on the Howard City to Edmore Road, in a 1999 Dodge Caravan, and at the same time a 2015 freightliner semi tractor trailer, which was heading east, turned north on to Six Lakes Road. Then the two vehicles collided.
Peterman luckily only had minor injuries and she was taken to Spectrum UMH in Greenville by Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services.
The driver of the semi was identified as 32 year old Cesareo Jesus Miguel Torena, of Cape Coral Florida. He was uninjured and deputies issued him with a citation for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
Police said that Peterman was not seriously injured as the airbags deployed in the Dodge and she was also wearing a seat belt. They went on to say that neither alcohol nor speed was a factor in the crash.
