Early on Sunday morning, November 20, a Greenville man was in a fatal wreck.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 3.30 a.m. near the 7000 block of Augusta road. Wesley Drake, aged 26, was driving a 2002 Chevy Camaro northbound on Augusta Road when he struck a Toyota Tacoma, being driven southbound by a 36 year old, who had stopped in the median to make a left turn. Following the head on collision, the passenger in the Camaro and the driver of the Tacoma, who was wearing a seatbelt, were transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital with injuries by EMS
Drake, who lived on Henderson Avenue in Greenville, was not wearing a seat belt and was entrapped in the vehicle. He passed away at the scene.
The accident is still under investigation by the coroner’s office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
