According to Greenville police on Wednesday, the driver of the car that hit a pedestrian remains in jail on a charge of felonious assault.
A male pedestrian, 37 year old Ben Jones, was hit by a car on East Fourth Street, in what Greenville police are investigating as a possible domestic dispute, and was taken to a Miami Valley Hospital with leg injuries, and the driver who hit him was taken to jail after being taken to Wayne Healthcare.
James Edward Stewart, 35, is in the Darke County Jail on no bond and is awaiting a court date for arraignment, whilst there is no news on the condition of Ben Jones.
Police say they have determined through their investigation that Stewart deliberately, and with the intention of causing serious bodily harm, struck the victim. Greenville police said that he was speeding when he ran a stop sign at Locust and Fourth, hit Jones and smashed into a parked car.
An accident reconstruction team was called to the scene.
