Early on Saturday evening there was a fatal accident in Abbeville County.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 6 p.m. on Turkey Creek Road near South Carolina route 252. They went on to say that 79 year old Claude Andrew Brock, of Ware Shoals made a left turn in front of another car, being driven by 47 year old Lee Jones, and that car hit him. A third car was also involved in the incident.
Brock was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy is pending. Jones, who was wearing a seat belt, was seriously injured and was airlifted to Greenville Memorial and the driver of the third vehicle was unhurt.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
