On Tuesday morning, September 6, a Greenwood County EMS supervisor was hit by a truck while working an accident scene and was transported to hospital.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 8.10 a.m. Tuesday morning when 60 year old Assistant EMS supervisor James Glasby Jr. was responding to a wreck at the intersection of Highway 72 and Woodlawn. He was walking back to his vehicle when a 2014 Ford pickup truck heading east on SC-72 came through the emergency scene and hit him. He was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital Wednesday with a ruptured spleen and fractured pelvis and underwent surgery the same day.
According to hospital representatives he is listed as being in a fair condition.
According to the police the incident is still under investigation and so far no charges have been filed.
