On Wednesday a woman from Greer died following a serious accident on Tuesday.
According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, the accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. on State 14. Lisa Campbell Horton, aged 53, of Gravely Road was driving on State 14 when a vehicle traveling along South Buncombe Road struck her vehicle.
She was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after 10 a.m. the following day.
The Greenville County school district said that Horton had been an aide and afterschool caregiver at Buena Vista Elementary since 2011. In addition she was a counselor in the after-school program.
Horton also served as an aide and afterschool caregiver at Paris Elementary from 2010-11 and Taylors Elementary from 1998-2010.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
