According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office a man died after being hit by a car on Monday night,
Coroner Parks Evans said that the incident happened just before 10 p.m. on Wade Hampton Boulevard near Batesview Drive near the IHOP.
Officer Johnathan Bragg of the Greenville Police Department said a driver of a black Toyota Avalon was involved in the accident. He went on to say that the driver was cooperating with police in the investigation.
The victim was 46-year-old Jeffrey Daniel Wilson, of Moore, who was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he died of the injuries he received in the accident. The actual cause of death is still pending.
The Greenville Police Department is also investigating the incident, and emergency crews brought in an accident reconstruction team to review the collision. The 700 block of Wade Hampton Boulevard was closed to northbound traffic while the investigation took place.
