A head on collision on Cowpen Landing Road on Monday afternoon left five victims seriously injured.
According to authorities, a Suzuki was travelling around a sharp curve on Cowpen Landing Road when it collided with a Dodge Neon, which had entered from its driveway.
The driver of the Suzuki, Ryan Johnson, was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where he is currently said to be in fair condition. His passenger, another male, was also taken to hospital along with the driver of the Neon, Eric Lovett and his female passenger.
No further information is available on those injured. A Vidant public information representative said that Lovett was not listed in that hospital’s directory but the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) allows patients admitted to hospitals to have their names excluded from public release.
In addition the police have not released any further information, including the names, due to the serious nature of the injuries.
