Several People Injured in Tractor Trailer Accident

A farm tractor accident on Sunday afternoon in Klackle Orchards left several people with minor injuries.

According to Montcalm County Sheriff’s office the accident happened on Station Road near West County Line Road at around 4 p.m. Klackle Orchards offers wagon rides to pick apples and pumpkins every day from the Saturday after Labor Day through Halloween. On one of these trips a tractor was towing two wagons with 25 to 30 people on each westbound on Station Road, when the first wagon began to sway.

The 71 year old tractor driver then lost control and went into the ditch which caused the first wagon to tip over. According to Klackle Orchards, he is a longtime and valuable employee.

Three men and two women ranging in age from 19 to 51 years old had minor cuts and abrasions and went to Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville for treatment.

The remaining uninjured passengers removed the second wagon out of the road and meanwhile the accident remains under investigation.
