On Friday night, May 6 a man was killed in a three car crash in Taylors.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on Wade Hampton Boulevard near Cherokee Drive. A BMW sedan, being driven by 40 year old Kris Ray Gleichman at a high rate of speed, was traveling north on Wade Hampton Boulevard when he ran off the right side of the road and hit a power pole. He then crashed into two more cars on Cherokee Drive.
Witnesses said that Gleichman was driving erratically when the accident happened. He was trapped inside the BMW and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the two vehicles Gleichman hit were both wearing their seat belts and escaped without injury.
The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
