On Wednesday afternoon, November 25 a woman from Fountain Inn died after an accident with a tractor trailer.
According to Greenville County Coroner and the state Highway Patrol the accident happened shortly after 5.15 p.m. on State 418, at Jenkins Bridge Road. A 1999 Chevrolet Blazer being driven by 26 year old Kayla Renee Boggs of Welcome Drive in Fountain Inn crossed the center line and hit a tractor trailer head on. Boggs was not wearing a seat belt and had to be extricated from her vehicle and she died at the scene.
The driver of the tractor trailer was a 52 year old woman from Gray Court. She was seriously injured and was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital.
The accident is currently under investigation as it is unclear what caused Boggs to lose control of the vehicle. There have been no reports of alcohol or vehicle malfunction as contributing factors in causing the accident.
No charges have been filed at this time.
